SONOS CLUB : FABARA
Colombian Designer and DJ based in London
INTERVIEW
One word to describe where you are right now?
FABARA: Open
What’s shifted for you since we last connected?
FABARA: I just finished my Masters at CSM which really expanded my way of thinking and helped clarify my identity as a creative individual. Even though identity is always shifting, the clarity is allowing me to develop depth instead of staying at the surface and expanding laterally.
Who or what has been feeding your creativity lately?
FABARA: Music and everything that comes with it. Whether that be gigs, club nights, jazz nights, listening bars, street parties etc. It brings people together in different environments and that always inspires me.
What does this new mix say about where you are now?
FABARA: I still love great drums and a great bassline.
What kind of space were you trying to create with it? /How do you want people to feel when they press play?
FABARA: Nothing in particular, it’s different when there is no crowd. I was just playing my favourite recent finds and tried to have fun with it so hope it created a fun space.
What does returning to SONOS CLUB represent for you?
FABARA: It was interesting to see how my music taste had evolved in some areas and stayed the same in others.
Why do spaces like this still matter?
FABARA: It let’s people do things for ‘the love of the game’. Excuse the football quote, but it really does make a difference. To be able to come and do something you enjoy doing and then share that with people without having a crazy barrier to entry will only be beneficial for everyone.
What are you building towards, for yourself and others?
FABARA: Creating something where I can combine my love for fashion, music and community.
One message you’d like to leave with the listeners?
FABARA: You’re not too cool to dance! Keep the dancefloor active.
